Mullan Re-Signed and Preseason Schedule Announced

Two announcements from the Rapids today.  First, as expected, Brian Mullan was re-signed.  No word on length of contract or if this is the rumored player/coach contract but regardless its good to have a veteran of his experience back in the locker room.  A good move form the Rapids before the Superdraft.

Secondly the Rapids announced their pre-season schedule today.  Camp opens later than expected on January 24th (maybe due to the rescheduling of the season opener, causing the Rapids to have an extra week before their first game?) with the players starting on fitness testing and training.  They'll head to Houston for a scrimmage with the Dynamo on Groundhog Day, return to Denver for a few days, head to Vegas for friendlies against Chivas USA and UNLV, then end up in Tucson for the Desert Diamond Cup matches in the second half of February.  Then its back to Denver before the season opener on March 15th in NY.  Here's the full schedule:

Sunday Feb 2nd, 10am MST - Houston Dynamo - Houston, TX
Friday Feb 14th, TBD - UNLV - Las Vegas, NV
Sunday Feb 16th, 8pm MST - Chivas USA - Las Vegas, NV - Las Vegas ProSoccerChallenge
Wednesday Feb 19th, 3:30pm MST - Chicago Fire - Tucson, AZ - Desert Diamond Cup
Saturday Feb 22nd, 1pm MST - FC Tucson - Tucson, AZ - Desert Diamond Cup
Wednesday Feb 26th, 3:30pm MST - New England Revs - Tucson, AZ - Desert Diamond Cup
Saturday Mar 1st, TBD - Final DDC Game - Tucson, AZ - Desert Diamond Cup

Assuming no other big news from the team tomorrow I'll have a quick preview of Thursday's Superdraft tomorrow night.
