Back In Time For The RMC

In the Kilauea Iki caldera, in honor of our hot start

Well the reason I've been quiet since the game preview two weeks ago was a trip to Hawai'i.  I thought I'd be able to do short updates during the trip but we were pretty busy.  I'll have a look back at Seattle and Montreal next week.

Tonight though we look forward to FSL and the Rocky Mountain Cup game tomorrow night.  Normally a big match due to the rivalry its even bigger this time around as the teams are 1-2 in the league standings.  A winner tomorrow night would clearly (IMO) stake their claim to the best team in the league right now.  FSL would also win the Rocky Mountain Cup with a win while Colorado would put themselves in position to retain it with a draw in the final match if they get all 3 points tomorrow.  Game time tomorrow is 7pm with the game on Altitude and the tailgate starting at 4.  Eric Miller will be the podcast guest at the tailgate this week.

Player Availability:
OUT: D Eric Miller (groin); D Sean St. Ledger (knee); M Marco Pappa (knee)
UNAVAILABLE: D Joseph Greenspan (Navy duty)

FSL has four out and two questionable.  It sounds like one of those two (Plata) will play while the other (Maund) likely won't.  For the Rapids there are no surprises though I was hoping Pappa would e available.

Starting XI Prediction:

Pretty much the same as last week, I don't expect any changes.

Prediction: 2-0 win, goals by Jones and Gashi.  FSL is giving up almost 2 goals a game and is on the road while Colorado is giving up less than a goal a game and is undefeated at home.  That, combined with the rivalry aspect, will give the Rapids a strong edge in this one and they'll put themselves back in the lead in the RMC for the year wile taking the top spot in the league.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Burch at left back and Williams at right back.

Burch was listed with a knock in the game preview on the Rapids website. not on the official injury report but my bet is that they don't push it and leave him on the bench.
