Rapids GK Steward Ceus has tweeted that he'll be returning to the USL-2 Charlotte Eagles on loan again this year. Ceus joined Charlotte in June last year for the remaining part of their season, playing 10 times for them and helped to lead the Eagles to a 4th place finish and runners-up in the Championship game.
With this move the Rapids are now at the roster limits from last season. The roster as of right now:
Under Senior Contract:
Goalkeepers:
Ian Joyce
Matt Pickens
Defenders:
Julian Baudet
Danny Earls
Kosuke Kimura
Drew Moor
Oscar Murillo
Scott Palguta
Midfielders:
Mehdi Ballouchy
Colin Clark
Greg Dalby
Nick LaBrocca
Jeff Larentowicz
Pablo Mastroeni
Jamie Smith
Wells Thompson
Forwards:
Conor Casey
Omar Cummings
Pat Noonan
Under Contract (type unknown):
Midfielders:
Ross LaBauex
Forwards:
Andre Akpan
Under Development Contract:
Goalkeepers:
Steward Ceus - On loan to Charlotte
Defenders:
Michael Holody
Rob Valentino - GA
Midfielders:
Ciaran O'Brien - GA
Forwards:
Ross Schunk - On DL most if not all the season with ACL tear
On Trial:
Defenders:
Jure Travner
Midfielders:
Andy Lorei
So we have 19 Senior Players, 5 Developmental Players, 2 Unknown contract types, and 2 trialists. With Ceus on loan and Schunk on the DL they don't count against the roster cap leaving us at 19 senior players and 3 developmental players. Given that Akpan signed before the draft and was drafted higher I wouldn't be shocked if he's the 20th senior player while LaBauex is the 4th developmental player.
There's been no word on Travner since he spent time with the team in England last week, I don't even know if he came back to Colorado with the team. Lorei played, and scored, in today's friendly against Air Force.

Travner didn't come back to Colorado with the team. Dalby is gone, but its not official yet.
Thanks for the info. I'm not surprised about either one, Dalby has been top of my cut list since preseason started given his playing time and Travner seemed to be a player taking advantage of the team being in England more than a real possibility.
That opens a spot for Lorei then.
Both Ceus and LaBeaux are on the senior roster. Akpan is also on the senior roster.
I'm surprised to hear that. Ceus hasn't really done much at the Rapids level to be upgraded after one season and most draftees are given Dev contracts.
I'm not an expert on MLS contracts but I know both LaBauex and Akpan signed with the league before joining the Rapids. I think that might automatically put them on the senior roster, but I could be wrong.
Ah, I wasn't aware of LaBeaux signing pre-draft. I expected that Akpan was senior because of that.
