Game On!!!

The league and player's union have announced that they have reached a deal on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, avoiding the strike deadline of tomorrow night that the union set. The new deal is for 5 years, which means the season will start as planned on Thursday night with the expansion Philadelphia Union at the Seattle Sounders. The next night the Rapids will kick off in LA against Chivas.

I've been holding off on season previews and such until I knew the season would actually start, so look for a few posts this week.

Hey, Have tou seen anything regarding a TV schedule for the Rapids this year? The Rapids site only lists nationally televised games. What about Altitude?

No word on TV yet. Going by the announcement date last year we would have expected it on Thursday. Given the questions around the CBA until this weekend I'm not surprised we don't have a schedule yet. I won't get concerned until Wednesday.

Altitude 1 and 2 are both scheduled to show the same Mammoth game at 8:30pm on Friday night. I expect that one of those was a placeholder for the Rapids game assuming there was no strike.
